Muse Lock In Australian Tour

Muse are bringing their arena rock tour down to Australia this summer, announcing a five-stop Australian capital city tour for November and December.

A regular visitor in the past, Muse is returning for the band’s first visit since dropping their sixth studio album, The 2nd Law in October last year.

Aussie fans can expect a ridiculous live show. Containing spectacular visuals and a giant robot traversing around the stage, fans may think they’ve actually hit the set to the musical of Pacific Rim.

Muse’s massive Australian fan base had been wise to the Thursday announcement since March when frontman Matt Bellamy let slip of visiting the often neglected West Coast city of Perth for an upcoming Australian tour. Perth will be one of the stops, as well as Adeladie, featuring alongside regular touring destinations Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

The 2nd Law tour will mark the band’s first visit to Australia since appearing with Big Day Out in summer 2010, but probably rules the English rockers out of making another appearance this January and February.

Bellamy says live performances are vital to the band’s existence over a near 20-year career.

“That’s why I got into a band… to get up on stage and have that feeling of freedom. The interaction with the crowd for a rock band is the most important thing,” Bellamy told radio station Triple M recently..
