Machine Gun Kelly isn’t having it when it comes to Artificial intelligence (AI) being used in his music. The rapper recently fired back at a fan who asked him to keep artificial intelligence away from his songs, album covers, and merchandise. His response made his stance on the technology pretty clear.
Machine Gun Kelly speaks out against using AI in his music or album covers
The 36-year-old musician gained nationwide fame through his early rapid-fire hip-hop tracks and hit songs. However, he is no stranger to criticism. Recently, a user called him out over alleged AI use in his music on X, prompting Machine Gun Kelly to fire back with a response.
Kelly wrote, “anyone ever brings that sh*t around me they’re fired.” The response came after a fan pleaded with him, “@machinegunkelly please don’t ever use AI in your music or your album covers or merch please and thank you!”
The rapper’s post makes his opposition to using AI in his music clear. However, it does not establish whether he has ever used the technology. This is not the first time the songwriter has spoken out against AI. He has criticized artificial intelligence on several occasions, particularly its growing use in the music industry.
MGK has also addressed AI through his rap lyrics. In his song “El Pistolero,” he included the line: “These the type of raps that you can’t reenact with AI.”
As AI voice-cloning and music-generation apps have gained popularity across the industry, MGK has also expressed concerns about the technology in an interview. Machine Gun Kelly believes AI takes away the swag and human emotions that make music special. He has made it clear that he does not support technology that attempts to replace real artists.
