Vin Diesel fans have one last chance to watch his 2002 action film xXx on Netflix before it leaves the streaming platform next month. xXx was directed by Rob Cohen and was a major success at the box office, despite receiving mixed reviews from critics.
xXx will leave Netflix in December 2026
According to a report by What’s On Netflix, the 2002 action thriller xXx, starring Vin Diesel in the lead role, will leave Netflix on December 1, 2026.
Directed by Rob Cohen, xXx was written by Rich Wilkes and is one of the most memorable movies for Diesel fans. Besides Diesel, the movie featured a major cast including Asia Argento, Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Trejo, Marton Csokas, and many more.
After the first movie’s huge success, the makers released a sequel in 2005 titled xXx: State of the Union. However, Diesel was not part of the project because of scripting issues. Later, Ice Cube stepped in as a new agent named Darius Stone in the second movie.
Diesel reportedly chose not to do the second movie because he opted to star in The Chronicles of Riddick. The actor later returned as Xander Cage in the third movie, xXx: Return of Xander Cage (2017), after he liked the script and direction.
xXx was made on an estimated budget of $88.3 million. It opened at the box office in 2002 with $44 million. Domestically, the movie made close to $142 million, while its international collection amounted to $135 million. As a result, the movie’s total collection stood at a whopping $277.4 million.
On the other hand, the movie has a mixed reception on Rotten Tomatoes. On the Popcornmeter, it has a 47 percent score based on critic reviews. Meanwhile, it has received a higher score of 58 percent on the Tomatometer based on audience reviews.
