Amazon Prime Video’s new TV and movie releases for the week of November 9 – 15 include new episodes of The Lord of the Rings and a show about Jesus Christ.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power season 3 is set five years after the second season. It covers the peak of the war between the Elves and the Dark Lord Sauron.
Fans have been looking forward to Andrew Richardson’s introduction as Anarion. Anarion is the second son of Elendil and Isildur’s brother. Showrunner J.D. Payne discussed the character in his interview with TV Insider.
“Andrew Richardson, Anarion, this is someone who’s going to explode off the screen,” Payne said. He continued, “We’re really excited for people to meet him. We auditioned a ton of different people.
[This is] someone who needs to have leading man charisma, and that’s exactly what Andrew brings to it.” Payne further added, “He’s someone who is leading a contingent of Faithful that are in the west and are getting ready to potentially make war on Pharazôn’s throne to try to put Míriel back in power.”
The showrunner also said, “He’s someone that when we meet him, he’s Faithful in name, but his tendency to leap before he looks and to want to destroy his enemies has maybe made him lose some of what makes the Faithful different from the Kingsmen.”
Also coming to Prime Video is The Chosen Season 6. Season 6 covers the final day of Jesus Christ, from his arrest to the crucifixion.
