Sources claim Taylor Swift campaigned for an Oscar at ‘Toy Story 5’ screening
Taylor Swift attended the event at Disney’s offices in downtown Manhattan on Sunday afternoon, where she discussed her contribution to the animated film. According to Page Six, the singer appeared particularly warm towards the younger guests, greeting and hugging several children at the screening. “She was just adorable with the little kids, hugging each of them,” one source told the publication. Another attendee said Swift did not rush through her interactions with the crowd and made an effort to speak to everyone who approached her.
“She stayed and talked to every single person and allowed selfies and signed autographs,” the attendee revealed. Her friendly approach also extended to the journalists in attendance. Among them was veteran New York writer Michael Musto, who later shared his experience of meeting the singer on Instagram.
Musto joked about the encounter by writing, “I got to greet Taylor Swift and couldn’t shake-shake-shake-shake-shake off the experience.” He also recalled that Swift complimented his sweater and told him it was nice to see him again. Musto praised the singer’s warm personality, describing her as “sweeter than shoofly pie.”
The screening comes as Swift seeks her first Academy Award nomination in the Best Original Song category for Toy Story 5. She wrote the film’s end-credits track, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” which has become a major part of the movie’s promotional campaign. The singer is reportedly hoping to secure both a nomination and a win at the upcoming Oscars.
