A new report claims Callum Turner has landed the iconic 007 role, with his wife Dua Lipa potentially singing the theme song. While the buzz has taken social media by storm, no official confirmation has come from the studio.
Here is the Callum Turner-James Bond report explained, covering what we know, what’s speculation, and why it should be taken with a grain of salt.
Rumors suggest Callum Turner is the next James Bond with Dua Lipa singing
Showbiz411 reported on November 2 that Callum Turner is the next James Bond. The entertainment news site described the rumor as strong, adding that Denis Villeneuve will direct the upcoming 007 film. Scoop account MyTimeToShineHello and ComicBook.com amplified the report on social media shortly after.
Turner has emerged as a frontrunner throughout 2026 for the role vacated by Daniel Craig. The British actor is best known for playing Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts films and Major John Egan in Apple TV+’s Masters of the Air. He married pop star Dua Lipa earlier this year.
Showbiz411’s Roger Friedman suggested Dua Lipa should sing the Bond theme song if Turner lands the role. He wrote that with Turner as Bond, there would be little reason to choose another singer. Bookmakers have separately listed Lipa as the betting favorite to record the next Bond theme for months.
Friedman also weighed in on rival candidate Jacob Elordi’s chances. He noted Elordi stands too tall at 6’5″ for the role. Friedman added that Elordi’s connection to the Kardashian family could create unwanted baggage for the new producers.
Bond 26 will feature Denis Villeneuve as director and Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight as screenwriter. Amazon MGM Studios and producers Amy Pascal and David Heyman are leading the casting search. However, no official announcement has come from the studio. Turner, Elordi, and Jack Lowden all reportedly completed screen tests earlier this year.
The casting decision remains unconfirmed, and these reports should still be treated as speculation until the studio makes a formal statement.
