Brandi Glanville and her longtime podcast co-host, James Maas, reportedly ended their professional partnership following a disagreement over his plans for a new solo podcast.
According to an unnamed source, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum gave Maas an ultimatum after he received an opportunity to host another podcast. The disagreement reportedly led to Maas leaving Brandi Glanville Unfiltered.
Brandi Glanville’s alleged ultimatum over James Maas’ solo podcast sparks split
A source told Page Six that Maas recently received an offer to host The Daily Skinny, a podcast focused on entertainment news.
According to the source, Maas welcomed the opportunity but intended to continue working with Glanville while developing his own show. However, the insider claimed that Glanville demanded he choose between the two projects.
Maas ultimately chose his solo podcast, according to the report. The source further alleged that Glanville removed Maas from everything associated with Brandi Glanville Unfiltered after he made his decision.
Both podcasts share the same production company, Straw Hut Media. The company announced The Daily Skinny earlier this month, describing it as a podcast featuring short, daily installments focused on entertainment news.
The reported disagreement ended a working relationship that began in August 2023. During their time together, Glanville and Maas discussed celebrity controversies, reality television disputes and personal experiences. Maas regularly exchanged opinions and jokes with Glanville while covering entertainment headlines.
The podcast also gave Glanville a platform to discuss aspects of her life beyond RHOBH, including her health and financial challenges.
Glanville joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills during its second season in 2011. She later became a full-time cast member for Season 3 and remained in that role through Season 5.
The reported departure raises questions about the future of Brandi Glanville Unfiltered. Neither Glanville nor Maas had publicly addressed the alleged ultimatum at the time of Page Six’s report. Their representatives also had not responded to the publication’s requests for comment.
The report did not identify a replacement co-host or confirm whether Glanville planned to continue the podcast on her own.
