Kid Rock Gets Fact-Checked After Comparing Abdul El-Sayed to 9/11 Hijackers

Kid Rock faced a correction from Bill Maher after bringing up the September 11 hijackers while discussing Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed. The musician questioned El-Sayed’s assimilation and drew a comparison to individuals responsible for terrorist attacks. This prompted Maher to challenge his argument with a factual clarification.

Bill Maher calls out Kid Rock for his comments on Abdul El-Sayed

Bill Maher confronted Kid Rock over the musician’s remarks about Abdul El-Sayed during an episode of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher. The exchange began with Maher discussing Donald Trump’s remarks about El-Sayed and the possibility of Democrats winning the midterm elections. As per Express UK, Maher asked Kid Rock, who is from Michigan, whether he believed Trump’s description of El-Sayed.

In response, Kid Rock brought up the question of assimilation. “People talk about assimilation too all the time, right?” he said. Referring directly to El-Sayed, he continued, “This man very much has assimilated – good education, well-spoken, even a good-looking guy – [but] you know who else assimilated very well? Those pieces of s**t that flew those planes into our World Trade Centers. The Fort Hood shooter.”

Kid Rock went on to explain his concerns, stating, “This has happened all over the world, so it scares the hell out of me, this Islamic extremism,” He then questioned whether El-Sayed was hiding  his intentions, asking, “I don’t know, is he a wolf in sheep’s clothing, or is he just a wolf in a wolf’s clothing?”

Maher objected to the comparison and corrected Kid Rock’s statement about the September 11 hijackers. “Not that it matters so much, but the 9/11 hijackers weren’t here assimilated. They were from Saudi Arabia,” he said. Kid Rock challenged the correction, responding, “The ones who flew the planes were from Saudi Arabia? No.”

According to Variety, of the 19 individuals responsible for the September 11 attacks, 15 were from Saudi Arabia, while the others came from the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Lebanon. Meanwhile, El-Sayed was born and raised in southeastern Michigan and currently resides in Ann Arbor.
