Sophia Bush opened up about her friendship with One Tree Hill co-stars Hilarie Burton and Bethany Joy Lenz. The actress said her relationships with the two women are among the longest-lasting in her life.

Sophia Bush discussed her long-standing friendship with her One Tree Hill co-stars. While discussing her new memoir, And I Will Tell You Mine: Notes from a Life in Progress, she told PEOPLE, “I mean, we’ve all known each other for now longer than we were alive, when we didn’t, and they’re some of the longest relationships of my life. ”
Bush added, “One thing I really value is that no matter what anyone’s going through, we wait for each other.” Sophia Bush, Hilarie Burton, and Bethany Joy Lenz co-hosted the Drama Queens podcast from 2021 to 2024.
She said, “I think that’s really important when you have friction or ease, that no matter what, you’re there, whether it’s easy or hard. That’s something I really do appreciate about all of us,” adding that sentiment “extends to the whole collective of women.” Bush referenced other OTH stars, including Danneel Ackles, Kate Voegele, Jana Kramer, Torrey DeVitto, Shantel VanSanten, Bevin Prince, Barbara Alyn Woods, Lisa Goldstein, and Moira Kelly. Bush said, “We got a real gift in each other. But it’s not a TV episode gift. It’s a real-life gift, and that comes with real-life stuff. It’s a lot of love that I have and that I know we all do for a long time.”
Bush also explored her relationships with Burton and Lenz in her memoir. Bush revealed that her friendships with Burton and Lenz experienced challenges over the years. When Burton left One Tree Hill after Season 6, Bush recalled that the atmosphere on set “felt off” without her. However, Bush said that she and Lenz learned to understand their differences as they grew older. Despite their complicated history, Bush emphasized the importance of maintaining these long-standing relationships.
