North West recently revealed that she is “glad” to have Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as her parents. The SKIMS founder welcomed her first daughter with her ex-partner in 2013. The little girl has spent years in the spotlight and is now forging her own way with her unique style and love for music.
North West reflects on the support she gets from Kim Kardashian and Kanye West
Although Kim Kardashian and Kanye West called it quits almost half a decade ago, they have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship. The former couple shares four children: daughters North and Chicago, and sons Psalm and Saint. Their oldest child, North, is no stranger to the spotlight, thanks to her parents’ celebrity status.
Now, as the 13-year-old is making her own name in the industry, she is grateful for her parents’ support. In a new interview clip going viral online, she said, “My mom birthed me and she helps me through everything, and my dad too. They’re just nice people. I’m glad to have them as my family.”
Despite her young age, she has already given her parents several reasons to be proud of her. She released her six-track debut EP, N0rth4evr, on May 1, 2026. Over the subsequent months, she released music videos for two of her songs, N0rth4evr and Aishite.
On September 5, she also performed her first headline show at the Vic Theatre in Chicago. Both of her parents attended the show to support her. Further, North also appeared on the cover of Dazed magazine last month. In an interview with The Times in October 2026, Kim opened up about North’s interest in working in the public eye.
“North loves it a little bit more than the rest. I hold her back,” the reality star said. “All she wants to do is forward-facing projects.” She also stated that she and Kanye make decisions for North together. “We make sure that we’re aligned and that she’s in projects that we both approve.”
