Prince William reportedly has no plans to involve himself in the latest controversy surrounding Meghan Markle’s father. Thomas Markle Sr. recently became embroiled in controversy after allegations of possessing child sexual abuse images were raised by Thomas Markle Jr. last week. However, the allegations remain unproven. The controversy has attracted considerable attention. Amid the ongoing drama, a new report suggests that William has “little appetite” for getting involved in the Duchess of Sussex’s family crisis.
Royal commentator believes Prince William wouldn’t involve himself in Meghan Markle’s family drama
Prince William is reportedly expected to stay away from the controversy surrounding Meghan Markle’s father, Thomas Markle. Apparently, Meghan’s half-brother Thomas Markle Jr. discovered some questionable materials belonging to their father while clearing out his former home in Cebu. He reportedly turned their father in and later apologized to Meghan, saying he now understands why she cut their father out of her life. Thomas Markle Sr. has denied the allegations, and nothing has been proven yet.
The incident, however, has drawn considerable attention. Despite the Sussexes’ return to the UK, royal reporter Andrea Caamano told Page Six that relations remain complicated. She added that the palace would be highly unlikely to get involved in matters concerning Meghan’s father. According to her, King Charles and Prince William would remain focused on their royal duties and avoid any public intervention in the matter.
Another royal commentator, Kinsey Schofield, expressed similar views. She said that, as a father, Charles would undoubtedly want to stand by his son, Prince Harry, and offer him emotional support. However, in his capacity as monarch, he would likely remain at a distance from the situation. She added, “The King would be reluctant to discuss such a sensitive matter without reassurance that their conversations would remain private.”
As for Prince William, Schofield said that he would not “engage” at all with Harry and Meghan, adding that “this is not his fight.” She explained that William already has a great deal on his plate, along with his own family to protect and care for. “He has little appetite for becoming involved in another Sussex crisis,” she concluded.
