Meghan Markle’s MasterChef Role Masks a Bigger Disappointment — Source

Meghan Markle might be feeling let down by her next TV job. According to a source, the Duchess of Sussex’s Junior MasterChef Australia gig is a far cry from the Hollywood career she envisioned after leaving royal life. It was reported that she will appear on the show in 2027. However, insiders claim the role raises questions about why bigger opportunities haven’t come her way.

Meghan Markle disappointed with Junior MasterChef Australia being her only TV offer, per source

Insiders claim Meghan Markle expected Hollywood’s biggest names to help advance her career, according to a source. An insider told Naughty But Nice that Meghan “imagined Hollywood’s biggest names would be opening doors for her.”

Instead, the source claimed she is taking “guest spots on reality television.” They alleged that this is “a long way from the Oprah Winfrey and George Clooney circles she wanted to join.”

The outlet noted that the cooking show has featured celebrity guests such as Robert Irwin, Curtis Stone, and Rick Stein. Former contestants and chefs Sarah Todd, Declan Cleary, Marion Grasby, and Justine Schofield have also appeared on the show. While the outlet described the lineup as respectable, it argued that it is “hardly the Hollywood power crowd” Meghan is still eager to join.

Meanwhile, another insider questioned whether a star like Gwyneth Paltrow would sign up for a similar opportunity. They claimed that Paltrow has built a global lifestyle empire and that Meghan wanted to operate at that level, too. “Let’s be honest, she’s doing this because the bigger opportunities haven’t materialized,” a source alleged. According to the insider, this represents a very different trajectory from that of someone who dreamed of becoming the next Angelina Jolie.

However, other developments offer a more positive perspective on Meghan’s television ventures. Her earlier appearance on the adult version of the franchise reportedly helped deliver its biggest Sunday audience since 2023, according to Paramount Australia. Filming is also expected to take place in Melbourne over a matter of weeks.

Furthermore, separate reports claim that “Suits” executives are preparing an offer for a two-hour reunion special. However, there has been no official confirmation from the Sussex camp yet.
