The Hunger Games actress discussed the incident during her October 28 appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast. She told host Alex Cooper she has become increasingly aware of the responsibility that comes with her position in the entertainment industry.

Jennifer said, “There was like an instance on set where crew members who weren’t approved when I was doing nudity, [they] were on set. And I came down hard on it purely because if we’re not setting that kind of principle at the level at which we’re doing it right now, then what on earth is going to happen to an 18-year-old unknown?”

She continued, “If [a young actress] shows up and there [are] people that aren’t approved, she’s going to be in a position like, ‘Do I say something and get a reputation for being difficult? Or do I just let these people that I’m not comfortable with see me naked?'” She said it was important for her to explain to those involved why the situation was unacceptable.

The actress did not name the project involved or reveal when the incident occurred. Jennifer made her nude-scene debut in the 2018 film Red Sparrow. She played Dominika Egorova, a ballerina whom Russian intelligence recruits. In 2014, hackers stole and leaked intimate photos of Jennifer and several other female celebrities without their consent. She condemned the incident as a sexual violation.

In a 2018 interview with Vanity Fair, she said, “My biggest fear was that people would say, ‘Oh, how can you complain about the hack if you’re going to get nude anyway?'” She explained that the experience ultimately empowered her. “I got something back that was taken from me, and it also felt normal,” she said.
