Savannah Chrisley’s pregnancy announcement brought a new romance into the spotlight, but her fiancé’s past came with a surprising political connection. Jason Galanis, the man behind her recent happiness, previously received clemency from President Donald Trump while serving a lengthy prison sentence.
The Chrisley Knows Best alum, 29, had kept her partner largely out of the public eye, referring to him as “J” or “Jason.” However, the mystery surrounding their relationship ended just as Savannah prepared for motherhood, revealing a 27-year age gap and a complicated history.
Jason Galanis, Savannah Chrisley’s fiancé, received clemency from Donald Trump
According to Us Weekly, Galanis, 56, had his prison sentence commuted by Trump in March 2025. He was sentenced to more than 15 years in prison in September 2020 for his role in two schemes, including one that defrauded a Native American tribe and investors out of tens of millions of dollars. The White House did not publicly explain its reasoning for granting him clemency.
Galanis had also drawn attention as an associate of Hunter Biden. He testified during the Republican impeachment inquiry into former President Joe Biden in March 2024, while still incarcerated. Two months after Galanis received clemency, the president pardoned Savannah’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, in their bank fraud and tax evasion case. Todd, 57, and Galanis had both served time at the Federal Prison Camp in Pensacola, Florida.
Savannah had previously praised Trump after her parents’ pardons. “It’s a terrible thing, but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” the president told her, adding, “I don’t know them, but give them my regards. Wish them a good life.” Meanwhile, Savannah appeared unconcerned about the age difference. On her October 27 podcast, she said, “It’s just such an amazing, fulfilling feeling to finally find your person. And I’m there. So yes, the age difference. So what?”
She also described Galanis as the love of her life and credited past heartbreak, teaching her what she wanted. The couple were photographed visiting Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate with her parents in April.
As Savannah prepares to welcome her first child, she highlighted their shared ambitions and deep connection. “We want to have life experiences with each other,” she explained. “And I think that’s when you know you have the right person, when you don’t feel like you have to escape them at times.”
