Demi Lovato Shares Health Update Following IV Drip Photo

Demi Lovato has reportedly reassured fans after a brief trip to the hospital this week. It was reported that the singer suspects she had an allergic reaction. According to her Instagram Story, she believes she may have developed a new allergy to either passionfruit or sushi. However, she quickly told fans that she is okay.

Demi Lovato assures fans she’s ‘fine’ after brief hospitalization

Demi Lovato shared an IV photo and said that she suspects a new passionfruit or sushi allergy. According to Billboard, Lovato, 34, posted a photo on her Instagram Story showing herself receiving medical treatment. The photo showed an IV in her arm and a hospital bracelet. She wrote, “sooooo i’m either allergic to passionfruit or sushi now!” However, she seemingly deleted the post afterward.

To calm the nerves of her fans, known as Lovatics, Lovato also shared a follow-up story reassuring them, “i’m fine!!” Although that post was deleted as well, a fan account on X later shared screenshots of both stories.

Meanwhile, TMZ described the incident as a possible allergic reaction. According to sources with direct knowledge, Lovato didn’t stay overnight, as hospital staff evaluated and discharged her shortly after she checked in. Furthermore, TMZ claimed that her symptoms subsided pretty quickly.

Despite these updates, it remains unclear what exactly triggered the reaction. The singer did not elaborate on her symptoms or mention any possible causes other than the passionfruit and sushi.

Historically, Lovato has spoken about allergies before. In 2009, she experienced a reaction while filming an episode of Sonny With a Chance, which she believed was caused by something in egg salad. Because makeup couldn’t cover the redness and itching, she had to go home early, later calling the situation “really funny and amusing.” She has also said she’s badly allergic to cats and dogs. However, that reportedly didn’t stop her from adopting a cat, which she returned after one day.

As for her musical career, Lovato’s dance-pop album “It’s Not That Deep” was released in October 2025. It had climbed to No. 9 on the Billboard 200.
