Donald Trump Aide Suggests Nicki Minaj for a Surprising White House Job

Donald Trump’s aide and the White House Communications Director Steven Cheung has playfully suggested Nicki Minaj for the vacant press secretary role. Cheung jokingly floated the rapper’s name as a possible replacement for former White House Press Secretary Katie Zacharia.

Following Katie Zacharia’s departure after just five days as White House press secretary, the position remains vacant. Cheung shared a video on X showing Minaj praising the president aboard Air Force One. Cheung captioned the video, “Ladies and gentlemen, I think we may have found the new White House Press Secretary! @NICKIMINAJ.”

Hours later, the rapper reposted the video with a smiley face. The video has since garnered more than 4.5 million views.

In the video, Minaj praised Trump’s handling of the U.S. economy. She said, “Well, it’s boring because we have a president that understands economics; first of all, you know, I said before that the president is naturally a businessman.”

She also discussed Trump’s foreign policy, adding, “We’re not going to be paying to kiss their a–, OK? They are going to pay us to be affiliated with the United States of America.” She also praised Trump’s work ethic, claiming that he worked harder than people half his age.

Minaj also commented on political polling, saying, “Well, let’s ask Hillary Clinton how, how the fake polls, how fake the fake polls are. Don’t pay those polls any mind.” Minaj has become increasingly vocal about her support for Donald Trump. (via The Mirror)

Cheung previously praised Zacharia’s appointment and expressed confidence in her ability to serve as press secretary. He told CNN, “She is uniquely qualified and whip-smart to help inform the American people about all the great things President Trump and his administration have been doing, and she will do an incredible job as press secretary.”

For now, Cheung’s playful suggestion has sparked speculation, but the White House has not announced Minaj as a candidate for the role.
