Heidi Klum has started the countdown to Halloween with another deliberately confusing costume tease. This time, the model shared a close-up look at something fleshy, slimy and difficult to identify. Klum shared the mysterious image on Instagram and asked followers, “What’s my costume?” The photo showed colorful, textured prosthetic pieces that resembled everything from sea life to human organs.
Naturally, fans wasted no time trying to solve the mystery.
“Looks like organs,” one user wrote. Another guessed, “Something underwater.”
Others got more specific. One person suggested, “Coral reef. Inspired by St Barth’s,” while another thought Klum could be transforming into “the zombie from The Last of Us.”
Several followers also pointed to the grotesque body horror in The Substance. Another commenter simply admitted, “Idk but I’m gagging already.”
The wild theories fit Klum’s usual approach. She rarely reveals enough for fans to confidently identify her costume before Halloween night.
This year, however, she has already dropped a few other clues. Klum previously said the Heidi Klum Halloween look would be “very bloody.” She also hinted that it would pair well with red wine.
That clue already fits into her recent Halloween buildup. Last month, Klum leaned into the spooky season with a blood-red wine campaign that ended with her white gown covered in red splashes.
Her commitment to dramatic transformations is nothing new. Last year, Klum also teased that her Halloween costume would be “very ugly” before eventually appearing as Medusa.
Over the years, she has also transformed into a giant worm, E.T., a peacock and several other elaborate characters. Those costumes often involve hours of prosthetics, makeup and construction.
For now, Klum seems happy to let fans keep guessing. Whatever the final answer is, the grotesque teaser suggests subtlety is probably not part of the plan.
