Although Taylor continued on Southern Charm, tensions between her and Shep remained high. They frequently clashed after she began dating Gaston Rojas in 2023. Taylor exited Southern Charm after Season 10 in 2025, but Shep continued on the show. Taylor confirmed that she and Gaston had split in June. Shortly afterward, speculation emerged that she and Shep were getting close again. The former couple was seen filming Southern Charm that same month.
However, Taylor dismissed the rumors while speaking on an episode of The Viall Files podcast in June. She said, “I have seen the rumors that we’re getting back together or hooking up again or whatever, and that is not true. Even if I wanted to hook up with Shep again or get back together, I would hope I have a little bit more respect for myself to go from one cheating ex to the other.”
Shep now spoke to Us Weekly on October 19 while promoting his partnership with State Farm for an immersive activation at Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston. The 47-year-old said, “Everything’s great. We talked for 45 minutes yesterday on the phone.” Shep shared that he and Taylor talked about “a number of things” during their recent call.
He also hinted that the two were able to put their differences aside and reconnect after their breakup. “She knows we both really appreciate each other. We can laugh about the past, and I’m really happy with where our relationship stands right now,” he said. When asked if he and Taylor would reconcile, Shep teased, “You’re going to have to find out.”
