Meghan Markle is reportedly considering another high-profile television interview amid ongoing tensions with the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly views Princess Diana’s 1995 “Panorama” interview as a precedent for speaking publicly about her experiences with the monarchy.
A new source claimed she was preparing “another Princess Diana act” to reshape public perceptions. Prince Harry was also said to sympathize with the idea. However, advisers reportedly fear another high-profile interview could deepen the existing royal divide.

According to a RadarOnline report, Meghan Markle was reportedly considering another televised interview to “challenge public perceptions” of her relationship with the monarchy. One insider claimed she was “gearing up to do another of her Princess Diana acts in public.”
They added that Diana’s decision to speak publicly remained “an important precedent for the Duchess.” However, advisers reportedly feared that “a renewed confrontation with the royals” could damage the Sussexes’ standing. Meanwhile, Prince Harry was said to support Meghan’s desire to speak openly.
The insider further claimed that Meghan viewed another interview as more than a response to recent setbacks. According to the source, she wanted “an opportunity to present her account without palace intervention.” They also suggested that the Duchess hoped another televised appearance could “influence British public opinion.”
For context, Meghan and Harry sat down with Oprah Winfrey for a high-profile interview in March 2021. During the conversation, Meghan disputed reports surrounding the bridesmaid-dress disagreement involving Catherine, Princess of Wales. CBS reported that Meghan said Catherine had made her cry before apologizing with flowers and a note. However, Radar did not identify a network, host, or production deal for any potential new interview.
Meanwhile, Princess Diana’s landmark Panorama interview aired on November 20, 1995. Speaking to journalist Martin Bashir, Diana famously declared, “There were three of us in this marriage,” referring to then-Prince Charles and Camilla.
The broadcast reportedly attracted an estimated 23 million viewers in the UK, according to Radar. However, the interview’s legacy became increasingly controversial following Lord Dyson’s 2021 investigation into the methods Bashir used to secure Diana’s participation.
The BBC subsequently acknowledged that the investigation had exposed “past unacceptable failures” surrounding the interview. Consequently, any comparison between Meghan’s reported plans and Diana’s historic broadcast carries a complicated legacy that extends beyond the interview’s original impact.
