King Charles’ loyalties reportedly lie with his elder son, Prince William, compared to Prince Harry. The sources claim the monarch’s speech at the state banquet reflects his close relationship with William.

At a state banquet held for Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said of Oman, King Charles was all praise for Prince William. The sources claim Charles’ loyalties are towards William.
A source said, “Charles is making it clear that his loyalties will always lie with his successor. And it’s clear he and William are getting on famously at the moment.”
According to New Idea, the royal sources pointed to William’s more diplomatic public roles and joint appearances with Charles as showing growing signs as a successor.
“Over the past year there’s been a steady pattern of William being given more of the ‘heir in waiting’ diplomatic and public roles, as well as more joint appearances with the King and more international patronage work,” said an insider.
While Charles is not known for showing fatherly affection to his children, he is certainly close to his heir.
The source said, “Their relationship has always had a formal, duty-first priority rather than a cosy father-son camaraderie. The public messaging right now is consistent. William is the clear, supported successor and Charles is happy to say so out loud.”
William and Charles are reportedly having a close relationship while Prince Harry’s relationship with the royal family remains strained. Recently, in a GQ interview, Prince Harry admitted he wants to reconcile with the royal family.
Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020. The royal couple left Britain and settled in California. However, they made headlines following their return to the U.K. this year.
William and Charles continue to have a close relationship while Harry and the royal family rift has no signs of slowing.
