Natasha Lyonne denies supporting MAGA after sharing Trump’s message about Elon Musk
Trump’s now-deleted post thanked Musk for giving SpaceX stock to millions of American children through Trump Accounts. He described the initiative as a way to bring together private-sector resources and invest in children, calling them the country’s “greatest and most important asset.”
In response, Lyonne posted a rocket, a saluting face, a sun and a sunglasses emoji. However, she did not explain their meaning, leaving users to speculate about her intentions.
The unusual post also prompted debate on Reddit, where users struggled to interpret the emojis. One questioned how the response fit with Lyonne’s previously expressed views, while another wondered whether the emojis suggested sending Musk “off on a rocket and into the sun.”
Users on X also sought clarification. One wrote, “She’s not MAGA. This has to be sarcasm. Pls clarify, Queen,” while another reacted with, “Girl no.”
As questions about her political stance spread, Lyonne directly addressed the speculation. Responding to a social media user, she wrote on X, “Not maga.”
Lyonne publicly endorsed Kamala Harris in 2024 and has spoken out against several Trump administration policies, adding to the confusion surrounding her latest post. According to The Tab, she also criticized the MAGA movement at the 2025 Independent Spirit Awards, telling The Hollywood Reporter that she was “pretty horrified” by it.
Her earlier political statements help explain why the cryptic emoji response drew such a strong reaction from fans before Lyonne clarified her stance.
