Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly planning to spend Christmas holiday with their children in California.
The monarch traditionally hosts Royal Family members at his Sandringham residence in Norfolk each December. The tradition dates back to Edward VII in 1870. However, the royal couple is reportedly planning to spend time away following their return to the U.K. in August.
According to The Daily Mail, a friend of the couple claims Harry and Meghan are planning to “keep their heads down between now and Christmas, when they will go back to California for the holidays.”
The couple is reportedly planning to spend half of the school holidays in California and in Portugal, where they own property. However, their Christmas plans are not confirmed.
Harry and Markle have relocated to a Montecito mansion, near Markle’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Earlier, Markle shared an Instagram story with the caption, “Christmas planning in June.” The story featured Markle driving a golf buggy with Compartes chief executive Jonathan Graham.
The reports also claim that the royal couple is not planning to apologize to the royal family following the tensions that became public in an Oprah Winfrey interview in 2021.
The couple stepped away from their role as working royals six years ago. They moved to California following their decision; however, this year they relocated to the U.K. with their children.
King Charles has continued the Sandringham residence Christmas tradition with the royal family, making the reported plans interesting this holiday season.
