On episode three of Dorothy’s I Do, Wang explained why she changed her mind about the guest. The person played a big part in her life and definitely wanted an invitation, Wang said. However, a dinner in New York changed how Wang viewed their friendship. “I don’t think this person wants me in their life,” she said.
The person invited her to a dinner that was related to their company, Wang said. She attended to show support but was uncomfortable when the host seated her away from them and their peers. “This dinner really showed me that there is a lot of inauthenticity there,” Wang explained. She also said the person openly told others, “I’m going to the wedding,” despite how the dinner made her feel.
Wang said the problem went beyond that one night. She recalled that the person had said “terrible things” about her and her family before, which made her rethink their long friendship. “I tolerated a lot and put up with a lot, and I’m just, like, tired of this,” she said. Wang then chose to send a “very thoughtful and long email” instead of ending the friendship harshly.
Fans quickly guessed that Wang meant Stewart, who also appeared with her on Rich Kids of Beverly Hills. Wang and Stewart had shared a friendship for more than 10 years, and their past history included tension on the reality show. Comments under clips from the special included, “She totally dropped enough hints to let us know it was Morgan without saying it was Morgan.”
Later, Wang said she didn’t get a response to her email. She felt that the silence confirmed her decision to uninvite them from the wedding. “I know that I made the right decision,” she said.
