Prince William reportedly maintained his silence on Prince Harry’s birthday, and sources said it was an intentional move. The Duke of Sussex celebrated his 42nd birthday on September 15. His wife, Meghan Markle, shared a wholesome video of her husband on Instagram, and King Charles wished him as well. However, the Waleses, William and Kate Middleton, reportedly did not wish Harry on his birthday.
Prince Harry receives birthday messages from several royal members except Prince William, sources say
According to Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice report on Substack, King Charles wished Prince Harry on his birthday. However, Prince William did not extend her wishes to his brother. The King privately contacted his younger son, while Princess Anne, Prince Edward, and Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie relayed their birthday wishes.
However, insiders say William and Kate Middleton did not wish Harry on his birthday, and it was a “deliberate” move. The source explained that more royals wished the Duke of Sussex on his birthday than people would expect. But his elder brother and sister-in-law completely ignored his special day. “Nothing. No call, no text, no private message. Not a word,” the insider added.
Harry’s birthday silence was hard to overlook since it offered the estranged siblings a potential opportunity for reconciliation, but William allegedly chose to turn the other way. The source explained that Charles “reached out because Harry is still his son,” and he wasn’t going to pass on the opportunity to reconnect with him, especially on his birthday. The other royal relatives, too, reached out to the Duke, seemingly putting their differences aside.
However, it appears that the future heir to the throne was not determined to let bygones be bygones. The source dished that this was “not an oversight” and that the Waleses remembered it was Harry’s birthday. They further noted, “[William] made a decision not to contact Harry, and Catherine didn’t reach out separately. That silence was deliberate.”
