Tom Cruise and Taylor Swift sparked curiosity after the pair were spotted chatting during the Kansas City Chiefs’ season opener. Now, a lip-reading expert has offered insight into what the two stars may have been discussing.
Tom Cruise chats with Taylor Swift during NFL game
Taylor Swift attended the Kansas City Chiefs’ first game of the 2026 NFL season at Arrowhead Stadium on September 14. During the game, she was seen in a suite having a conversation with Tom Cruise.
According to the Irish Star, lip-reading expert Nicola Hickling analyzed footage of the exchange and shared her interpretation of the discussion. She claimed Swift said, “It’s the structure of the entire infrastructure of the audience that’s what I love in a positive way.”
Hickling also alleged that part of Cruise’s response was inaudible. However, she interpreted one of his remarks as, “You may not know it, but you do have a job.” The expert further claimed Swift responded by placing her drink down, saying “Right,” and nodding. Hickling also alleged Cruise later said, “I told her to stick to one and that it’s the last time,” with Swift again nodding in response.
The appearance marked another public outing for Swift during football season. She watched from a suite as she cheered on the Chiefs and her husband, Travis Kelce. Swift wore a red-and-white checkered top and appeared relaxed throughout the game.
The NFL outing came just months after Swift and Kelce’s reported wedding at New York City’s Madison Square Garden. According to reports, the celebration included several high-profile guests, including Cruise. The couple reportedly asked attendees to sign non-disclosure agreements, and they have not released any official wedding photos.
Kelce later reflected on the event during his podcast, calling it “the best night of my life” and thanking those who attended. Meanwhile, Swift also made a surprise appearance during the Emmy Awards through a comedy skit that aired the same evening, giving fans another unexpected moment to talk about.
