NeNe Leakes says she recently reached out to Kim Zolciak and considers her a friend
Recently, Big Tigger Morning Show shared a video on Instagram showing an interview with NeNe Leakes. During the conversation, the TV personality was asked about Kim Zolciak-Biermann, with whom she had a bitter rivalry during The Real Housewives of Atlanta. To everyone’s surprise, NeNe revealed that she recently reached out to Kim and that the two are now friends.
Leakes said, “I recently spoke to Kim. I think it was last week. I just hit her up, wanted to know how she was doing … and made sure she was OK with what her son is dealing with.”
“I know that’s a tough time, and I know she’s not OK.” She added
For context, police arrested Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann’s 15-year-old son, KJ, in Alpharetta, Georgia, on August 17, 2026. He faces felony charges related to an alleged sexual assault involving a female classmate.
The court granted KJ a $200,000 bond under strict conditions, including house arrest at his mother’s residence, electronic monitoring, virtual schooling, and no contact with the alleged victim or other minors. His attorney continues to maintain his innocence.
This is undoubtedly a difficult time for Kim Zolciak-Biermann and her family. That may explain why NeNe Leakes reached out to the TV personality.
Leakes and Kim have appeared together across six seasons of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Their bitter rivalry began in Season 1 and grew even more intense when Kim returned to RHOA for Season 10 after a long absence.
