MUNA Speaks Out After Unexpected Gal Gadot Jimmy Kimmel Pairing

MUNA found itself in an unexpected television pairing when its prerecorded performance aired alongside Gal Gadot. Naomi McPherson quickly addressed the situation before the Jimmy Kimmel Live! episode reached viewers.

The singer made clear that the band did not know Gadot would headline the same episode. McPherson used the moment to reaffirm MUNA’s support for Palestine.

McPherson explained the situation through their Instagram Stories before Thursday’s broadcast. They thanked the show’s staff but said MUNA had received no guest information beforehand. “We’re on Kimmel tonight!” McPherson wrote on Instagram Stories. She praised the staff for their work, calling them “legends who really went the extra mile.”

McPherson then explained why the pairing caught the band off guard. “This was taped a few days ago and we weren’t told who any of the guests were gonna be,” they wrote. That distinction appeared important for fans who questioned MUNA’s appearance beside Gadot. The band had not knowingly shared the episode with Gadot when recording its performance.

McPherson then used the unexpected situation to make MUNA’s position unmistakable. “So gotta also just take this moment also to say a nice big huge Free Palestine,” they added on Instagram Stories.

Gadot served as the episode’s lead guest while MUNA appeared through its prerecorded musical performance. The actress, who was born in Israel, had publicly supported her home country amid the Israel-Gaza conflict.

MUNA had previously become associated with outspoken support for Palestine through McPherson’s advocacy. The singer’s latest message therefore gave viewers additional context surrounding the band’s unexpected placement. During the episode, MUNA performed “Dancing on the Wall.” The performance had already been recorded before the Thursday broadcast.

McPherson’s message also separated the band’s experience with the show’s staff from the unexpected booking arrangement. They specifically praised the crew for their kindness and effort during MUNA’s visit. For fans, the clearest takeaway came from McPherson herself. She did not hide MUNA’s political position despite appearing on the same episode as Gadot.

The performance ultimately aired as planned, while McPherson’s message provided the context surrounding its surprising placement.
