Angelina Jolie does not plan to stay in the United States after her child custody agreement with Brad Pitt officially ended. The 51-year-old actress said she does not plan to have a permanent home base. Instead, she wants to live “a bit nomadic” for a while.
Angelina Jolie says she plans to spend more time outside the US as she enters a new chapter after raising six kids with Brad Pitt
In a September 9 interview with L’Officiel, Jolie discussed her plans to leave Los Angeles, where she was born and raised her family. She is the mother of six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne. All of Jolie’s children have now reached adulthood. She no longer has the same parental obligations that once influenced where she lived. Her youngest children, fraternal twins Knox and Vivienne, turned 18 in July. She said, “It’s the end of a certain time for me.” In May, Jolie listed her California estate for $29.85 million. The property was formerly owned by legendary filmmaker Cecil B. DeMille.
The Eternals actress is now focused on expanding her brand, Atelier Jolie, beyond the United States after opening its flagship store in New York City. Jolie said she always wanted Atelier Jolie to become a global brand. She identified Brazil as a possible first location for the brand outside the U.S. She also plans to visit different locations around the world to meet local artists and makers. In addition, Jolie plans to return to hands-on work with her foundation in Cambodia and continue her fieldwork.
“I don’t really plan to have a base. I’d like to have a home base for my family, a place where some of the mom stuff and the family photos are. And then I’d like to be a bit nomadic for a while. My home in Cambodia will also be a residency a few months out of the year for Khmer culture,” added Jolie, who is beginning a new chapter after bringing her lengthy legal battle with Brad Pitt to an end. The couple married in 2014, separated in 2016, and finalized their divorce in December 2024.
