SNL is returning for a new season with a star-studded lineup. SNL will premiere its Season 52, featuring the Obsession star Inde Navarrette, Dakota Johnson, a New York Knicks player, and more.
According to Variety, the NBC show will premiere its new season on September 26, 2026. As per the source, Inde Navarrette will lead the Halloween episode, which will air on October 31, 2026. She will be accompanied by the musical guest Gracie Abrams, who will return to the sketch show for the second time.
However, before Navarrette makes her debut on SNL, Dakota Johnson will host an episode on October 3. The hardcore rock band Turnstile will also join the Materialists star. Johnson will return to the NBC show for the third time to promote her new movie Verity, which is set to release on October 2. The episode will also mark Turnstile’s debut on SNL.
Jalen Brunson & Shane Gillis are also set to host Season 52
The debut episode of Saturday Night Live Season 52 will be hosted by Jalen Brunson from the New York Knicks. Brunson led the team to their first NBA Championship in 53 years. The basketball star will be joined by the K-pop group Katseye. Both will make their debut on the NBC show on premiere night.
In addition, Shane Gillis is set to host the October 10 episode marking his third time as a host on SNL. Rosalia will join Gillis as the musical guest. The stand-up comedian recently broke the Guinness World Record for the largest stand-up audience.
Although Season 52 of SNL will feature many new hosts, some of the previous hosts won’t be part of the new season. For instance, Chloe Fineman, who has been part of the sketch show since 2019, has left after seven seasons. Moreover, Martin Herlihy has also exited the show ahead of the new season. Herlihy has been part of SNL for four seasons as a member of Please Don’t Destroy. The comedian was also part of the writers’ room for Season 51.
