Ms. Rachel Working With Kids’ Creator Over Surprising Issue

Ms. Rachel, the children’s content creator behind the hugely popular YouTube show, is now working out some trademark confusion. Her company is working with another kids’ creator over a character with a very familiar name: Herbie.

The disagreement has now reached the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, where Songs For Little LLC, Ms. Rachel’s company, filed a petition.

Ms. Rachel’s company and Sherrika Myers’ Lil Herbie trademark confusion

According to documents obtained by TMZ, Songs For Littles, LLC, Ms. Rachel’s company, filed a petition over content creator Sherrikka Myers‘ trademark. Myers says she created the children’s character, which is also featured in books she wrote.

The confusion centers on Ms. Rachel’s own Herbie character.

Ms. Rachel’s show has 20 million YouTube subscribers and features Herbie, whom her company describes as “a lovable orange puppet character.” Herbie has become part of Ms. Rachel’s broader children’s entertainment brand and appears alongside educational songs, lessons and other familiar figures from the show.

According to the petition, Myers’ existing Lil Herbie Series trademark has prevented Ms. Rachel’s company from securing its own trademark for Herbie.

“I think what Sherrika Myers has created is amazing and there is absolutely no dispute,” Ms. Rachel explained to TMZ.

“Our lawyers were communicating about how to have both trademarks coexist, though I wasn’t even aware of this.

“I think everyone knows from who I am that I would never try to stop a wonderful program like Lil Herbie. I have been in touch since I heard about this situation, and we are planning to work together in some way.”
