Sai de Silva reveals whether she blames Brynn Whitfield for ‘RHONY’ reboot backlash
Sai opened up about the fan backlash during an appearance on SiriusXM’s It’s Me, Tinx. She said, as stated by Reality Blurb, “We’re a team. There is no I in Housewives. I know some Housewives feel like they are the show. We were the newbies. Bravo fans are really — they struggle with change. I don’t even want to say give us a chance. I just want to say, watch this s**t and then circle back.”
The reboot, which started with Season 14 on July 16, 2023, has faced backlash over its noticeable change in tone. Many longtime viewers missed the chaotic and organic history of the original cast. Some viewers also questioned whether the new group has the same authentic chemistry. Bethenny Frankel also took aim at the new version of the long-running franchise. In a since-deleted TikTok video from 2024, she called the reboot a “piece of trash,” reports Page Six. She also demanded “justice” for Sonja Morgan, Dorinda Medley, Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer, praising the former stars as “ride or die.”
Brynn quickly became a fan favorite after joining The Real Housewives of New York City for Season 14. However, her time on the reboot was short-lived. After just two seasons, she announced her decision to leave the series. She shared the news on her Instagram Stories, writing, as per People, “After a lot of thought, I’ve made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now. ” “From day one, I’ve believed RHONY is a fan’s show — we’re just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers,” she added. At the same time, she admitted that she was “so over it.” She said she wanted to return to her normal life and simply be herself again.
