Andy Cohen revealed when his friendship with Bethenny Frankel began to go south. The Bravo producer shared the incident in his latest book, revealing details about their strained relationship. The fallout reportedly began after a 2022 episode of Watch What Happens Live.
Andy Cohen says Bethenny Frankel’s 2022 Jeff Lewis clash strained their friendship
In his book Andy’s Bravo Scrapbook: Twenty Years Behind the Scenes of the Real Housewives and the Bravoverse, he criticized Bethenny Frankel with a story about Frankel and Jeff Lewis.
He wrote, “I was excited to have Bethenny and Jeff Lewis on in 2022,” referring to an episode of Watch What Happens Live, “Both were long off Bravo, but I considered them friends and masters of the genre of trash-talking.” Cohen added the episode led to an end to his personal and professional relationship with Frankel.
Cohen added, “Worth noting that while we were doing the episode, I thought it was going great and that she was, as usual, on top of her game. It was very clear after that night that she can dish it, but she can’t take it.”
During that episode, when the topic of Frankel’s podcast came up, Cohen pointed out that she has been critical of the Real Housewives franchise after she left it. Lewis asked Frankel what made her podcast different; she said at one point, “Well, I wasn’t let go by Bravo. I actually left on my own choice… I’m not a disgruntled employee.” Lewis acknowledged that he had been fired, to which Bethenny responded, “And that’s why you’re so bitter.” She later said she felt “ambushed” by Cohen and Lewis.
Recently, during Bravo Fan Fest in Charleston, Carole Radziwill and Andy Cohen appeared on the panel. Radziwill was asked whether Frankel revealed anything about returning to RHONY; she said it’s about my pay scale and pointed to Cohen. Cohen seemingly appeared to take a dig at Frankel’s TikTok presence, saying, “I’m not really active on TikTok.” Frankel later replied to Cohen with a TikTok video. She said Cohen is waiting for Bravo to pay him while the OGs are making their own money. (via Reality Blurb)
For years, Cohen and Frankel had been good friends and collaborators on the franchise. However, after the episode, their relationship turned sour.
