Unabomber’s Netflix release date is imminent
Shailene Woodley’s new R-rated thriller Unabomber is set to arrive on Netflix soon. According to What’s on Netflix, the film will debut on streaming on September 25, 2026, giving subscribers a new thriller to watch later this month.
Directed by Janus Metz Pedersen from a screenplay by Sam Chalsen and Nelson Greaves, Unabomber tells the story of Ted Kaczynski, also known as the Unabomber, through two different periods of his life. One timeline follows Kaczynski during his time at Harvard University, where he undergoes controversial psychological experiments under Professor Henry Murray.
The other takes place years later, when FBI agent Joanne Miller leads the effort to find him and uncovers how his earlier experiences contributed to his deadly campaign. Inspired by true events, the film follows Kaczynski’s transformation from a 16-year-old Harvard prodigy into the domestic terrorist responsible for a bombing campaign that killed three people and injured 23 more.
Jacob Tremblay stars as Ted Kaczynski, with Russell Crowe playing Professor Henry Murray and Shailene Woodley portraying FBI agent Joanne Miller. Annabelle Wallis appears as Christiana Morgan, while Alexander Ludwig and Steven Ogg also feature in the cast.
Talking about the film, Metz Pedersoen said, “UNABOMBER is a story about a young man who feels increasingly disenfranchised by society and decides to take up violence as a means of revenge. We crosscut between two timelines, roughly speaking: the making of the Unabomber and the capture of the Unabomber.”
