Christopher Nicks died after a private cancer battle, his daughter confirms

Christopher Aaron Nicks was 72 and had privately battled with cancer for 2.5 years. His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced the news on Facebook. Nixi wrote, “It is with a broken heart that I announce the passing of my father, Christopher A. Nicks, early this morning, surrounded by family.”

She added, “Some of you may know that he spent the last 2.5 years battling a cancer diagnosis, and to some this may come as a shock. If this is news to you, please know it was because he never wanted people to worry about him that he kept this to himself.”

Nixi Parkinson Nicks is Christopher’s daughter with his ex-wife, Lori Perry-Nicks. According to the Us Weekly, Lori formerly worked as a backup singer for Stevie Nicks.

Nixi further wrote, I know that he has left his mark on so many people, and this will leave many more than his immediate family with a piece of them missing. I know I speak for my dad when I say that his friends, his lost boys, meant the world to him. Rest easy, Coach. We will see you in Neverland.”

Nixi later shared an Instagram post featuring a photo confirming his father’s death.

Lori responded to Nixi’s post with a heartfelt tribute. She said, “Beautifully said, my angel. And as the mother of a very dear friend of Christopher’s said… ‘He loved life!’ and no doubt he lived it to the fullest… Following his own rules!!! We will all miss him, in so many ways… He was an anomaly. And they certainly broke the mold when they created him. There will never be another one like him…. I miss you already, RD…”

Stevie Nicks’ former bandmate Mick Fleetwood also paid tribute on social media. Fleetwood shared a photo of Stevie and Christopher with the caption, “His zest for life will be a forever beacon of inspiration! Chris, you will be missed by me, and I know the Family of Fleetwood Mac. Peace and love.”

While tributes continue to come in, Stevie has not made any public comment on her younger brother’s death.
