Prince Harry‘s return to the U.K. is reportedly linked to plans involving Princess Diana. Royal expert Richard Kay claimed Harry wants to make a television film about his mother. He also said that the prince has contacted people who knew Diana. The project could reportedly occupy much of Harry’s attention over the next year.
Prince Harry’s return to the U.K. is reportedly linked to plans for a film about Princess Diana.
Kay discussed Harry’s alleged plans on “Palace Confidential.” The Daily Mail claimed Harry had been approaching Diana’s former friends. He said the prince wanted them to contribute to his planned project.
“I am told that one of the reasons Harry’s here is to make a television film,” Kay said. He described it as Harry’s “own film” about his mother. Kay added that the project could occupy Harry’s “headspace over the next 12 months.”
The reported project could arrive as Diana’s legacy receives renewed attention. Next year will mark 30 years since her death in Paris. Several events and tributes are reportedly planned around the anniversary.
Kay also discussed the impact Diana’s legacy could have on Harry and Prince William. He said the brothers had remained estranged for several years. The royal expert argued that Diana had influenced both brothers throughout their lives.
Harry’s reported plans also come after his July U.K. visit. He and Meghan Markle stayed with Diana’s family at Althorp. The couple traveled there with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Diana’s brother, Earl Spencer, is also preparing a new book about his sister. The memoir is scheduled for release this month. Its publication could add further attention to Diana’s life and legacy.
Harry and Meghan are also reportedly searching for a home in the Cotswolds. According to the report, a film studio is among their wish-list features. The development could potentially support Harry’s reported filmmaking ambitions.
Meanwhile, William and Catherine are reportedly planning to ignore Harry’s return. Richard Eden claimed the couple viewed Harry and Meghan as private citizens. He said their presence in Britain should not change the royal’s approach.
