Next Gen NYC’s Georgia McCann Takes the High Road Through Season 2 Mess

Georgia McCann reflects on becoming ‘Next Gen NYC’s’ unlikely breakout star amid Season 2 chaos

As reported by Vulture, McCann said viewers surprised her by finding her unusual personality so memorable after the first season.

“I think people didn’t know what to make of me that first season,” she said. “I always feel like I’m the straight-edge one in my world, but I think to the general public who isn’t in New York City, I’m really weird and out there.”

This season, that personality has also placed her in the middle of conflict. McCann clashed with former friend Charlie Zakkour after he became involved in a business venture with her ex. Still, she does not seem interested in continuing the feud. “I don’t think they’re ever going to actually end up executing,” she said of their plans to open a club. When asked about her friends becoming friendly with Zakkour again, she simply said, “It is what it is.”

Meanwhile, McCann avoided escalating a confrontation with Riley Burruss, whom she described as drunk and said had accused her of drug use and threatened her. She said, “I knew anything I’d do would come off as antagonizing, so I was like, Okay, I’m just not saying anything. I think Riley was really drunk. I’ve been on the other side of that, and you don’t know what’s going to set someone off who’s drunk.”

She also discussed receiving inpatient treatment for an eating disorder, saying she shared her story to reduce the shame surrounding treatment.

At BravoCon, fans surprised McCann by cheering her arrival, although filming made the event overwhelming. Meeting viewers, however, became her favorite part. Despite the season’s shifting friendships, McCann insists she never tried to turn the cast against Charlie Zakkour. She remarked, “I don’t believe in revenge.”
