General Hospital Cast Adds Major CBS Actor, Role Revealed

General Hospital’s roster continues to grow after it recently added a cast member known for one of CBS’ police procedural thrillers, Numb3rs. The actor would be playing a completely brand-new role on the show. The debut is set for this week.

Alimi Ballard joins General Hospital cast as William Baines

Alimi Ballard, best known for playing Frankie Hubbard in daytime shows, Loving and its spin-off The City, is all set to join the cast of General Hospital. He will mark his on-air presence on September 3, 2026. He will enter Port Charles as William Baines, who seemingly appears to be a newer character for the show. It remains to be seen how he will be incorporated into the existing storylines. His character could add sprinkles of drama and make the story even more interesting.

Ballard entered the acting industry with Loving in 1993, which secured him immense attention and recognition. In a conversation, he credited Debbi Morgan for guiding him about the daytime business. He added, “She is just as stunning in person as you would imagine, and she taught me everything I needed to know to get started as an artist — how to prepare you for the level of intensity, the level of dedication required to make these fictional circumstances connect with the audience and I would be in scenes with her sometimes and I would just be like, mouth open, because her range of emotion and a command and access to it would blow me away and I just I fashioned myself to try to come somewhere within the same area code of that level of professionalism and talent” (via TV Insider).

Additionally, Ballard is also known for playing main roles in CBS’ Numb3rs, Arsenio, Dark Angel, and The Catch. Ahead of joining GH, he played Defense Attorney Ron Delahunt in three episodes of Law & Order.
