Prince William ‘Would Rather Spend Christmas Alone’ Than Be Around Prince Harry — Source

Prince William is reportedly against the idea of spending Christmas with his estranged brother, Prince Harry. With Harry and Meghan Markle back in the UK, royal fans are hoping King Charles will invite the Sussexes to the Christmas celebrations at Sandringham.

However, the Prince of Wales is said to be unhappy about the prospect and would reportedly prefer to spend the holiday away from his brother.

Sources claim Prince William doesn’t want to spend Christmas with the Sussexes

Sources cited by Heat World claim that Prince William is not keen on spending Christmas with Prince Harry. Speculation continues over whether the Sussexes will receive a personal invitation to the royal family’s annual Christmas celebrations. According to the sources, Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, will “not automatically be included” on the guest list.

King Charles may reportedly want to welcome his younger son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren for a family Christmas. However, sources claim that if Charles invites Harry and Meghan, William could choose to withdraw from the celebrations at Sandringham.

The source said: “It’s assumed that Harry and Meghan will be invited to all the Christmas functions. Even though they’re not working royals, they are still family, and the King wants them to have a place at the table. But William can’t accept that. He feels like they lost that privilege with all their despicable behaviour. He’s saying he will opt out of attending anything they are invited to, rather than have to put on some phoney act.”

The insider added that several well-wishers have urged the Prince of Wales to “swallow his pride” and give the situation a chance. However, William reportedly remains unwilling to do so, with the source claiming he would rather “spend Christmas alone” than come face-to-face with his brother.

Meanwhile, royal well-wishers are hoping William will reconsider for the sake of his father, but sources claim he is currently not “budging.” A previous PEOPLE report said Charles was “made aware” of Harry and Meghan’s plans and welcomed the prospect of meeting his son and grandchildren in a private capacity. Interestingly, the Waleses were reportedly blindsided by the Sussexes’ plans.
