D4vd’s Father Sells Property as Singer’s Money Problems Take Dark Turn

D4vd is now relying on a public defender in his criminal case, while recent property transactions involving his father, Dawud Burke, are drawing attention amid the singer’s reported financial problems.

The real estate activity does not establish that Burke’s finances are connected to his son’s legal expenses. However, the transactions surfaced as D4vd’s financial situation changed significantly enough for the court to declare him indigent.

D4vd’s previous legal team, which included Blair Berk, Marilyn Bednarski and Regina Peter, withdrew from representing him. According to TMZ, the singer will now use a public defender in the criminal case involving the murder of Celeste Rivas.

The development has put additional attention on D4vd financial troubles, particularly because the singer previously earned $11 million from his Interscope deal alone.

Around the same period, his father made two separate real estate moves in Texas.

Records obtained by TMZ show that Dawud Burke sold a three-bedroom, two-bathroom Houston property in early July for $229,000. The home measured 1,819 square feet.

Before that sale, Burke took out a $138,000 loan in late April against another Houston property. That house reportedly contains three bedrooms and one bathroom across 1,260 square feet.

Burke currently resides in Hempstead, Texas, according to the source. His four-bedroom, three-bathroom home there spans 4,426 square feet and carries an estimated value of $850,000.

The timing has brought the Dawud Burke Houston home transactions into focus, but the available records do not show that he sold or borrowed against property to fund D4vd’s defense.

D4vd’s move from a private legal team to a public defender remains the clearest indication of his current financial position. The court’s indigency determination means he no longer has the funds required to continue paying his previous attorneys.

For now, Burke’s real estate dealings and D4vd’s legal finances remain separate developments, even as both have attracted attention during the singer’s ongoing criminal case.
