Charles Spencer’s Princess Diana memoir reportedly puts King Charles III in an “unpredictable situation.” Almost three decades after the Princess’s passing, her brother is revealing never-before-heard details from her life leading up to her death in a tragic car accident in Paris on August 31, 1997.
A new report from Woman’s Day claimed that this book could rekindle the feud between the Earl and the King. “The King is indeed bracing for the worst in regard to Earl Spencer’s book,” a royal insider said. “Everyone knows from [Harry’s book] Spare that there was a big argument during the week of Diana’s funeral over whether or not the boys should be expected to walk behind her coffin – Charlie thought it was a ‘barbarity’.”
The source continued, “This book is Charlie’s unfiltered version of events and the palace has no say over the content. For a King who values careful messaging, an emotionally charged memoir from his late wife’s brother puts him in an unpredictable situation.”
In the years since his sister’s passing, Earl Spencer has accused the royals of trying to cut ties with him and reduce contact between him and the princes, although Princess Diana’s will named him the legal guardian of her sons, Prince William and Prince Harry.
An insider has also claimed that Charles Spencer offered Prince Harry and Meghan Markle a residence in the UK. However, the couple refused. The source also divulged that “people are pointing the finger at his uncle” when it comes to the fact that the Duke of Sussex is able to afford his own house in the Cotswolds while also keeping their house in Montecito, California.
