What do we see in the trailer for Pendulum?
The teaser opens with an unsettling shot of the pair engaging in a spiritual healing session when the candles begin to flicker. The clip then goes into a collage of eerie vignettes from the movie, as an ominous voice says, “My dear friends, look at the world around you. All interconnected with the same life force. Each breath we take, we engage in this grand exchange. Remember this eternal truth. There is no such thing as death. The circle has no end.”
Gordon-Levitt’s last and only other horror movie is the 1998 slasher flick Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. Levitt was 17 years old at the time. The following year, he starred in the beloved romantic comedy 10 Things I Hate About You.
The upcoming horror film is written and directed by Mark Heyman in his feature film directorial debut. He is best known for co-writing Darren Aronofsky’s 2010 psychological horror Black Swan. Aronofsky also serves as a producer on Pendulum, alongside Dave Caplan and Jacob Jaffke.
Pendulum stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Phoebe Dynevor, Jacki Weaver and Norman Reedus. The film arrives in theaters on January 1, 2027.
