Nate Burleson‘s recent Cadillac ad has sparked speculation about his future at CBS Mornings. According to an insider, the network did not greenlight the ad because its journalists are prohibited from running advertisements for personal gain. This comes amid major shake-ups at CBS after Bari Weiss took over.
Nate Burleson’s Cadillac ad post fuels speculation about his CBS exit
Nate Burleson is a significant part of CBS Mornings, but his recent Cadillac ad has prompted fans to worry about his future at the network.
Burleson, who joined CBS Mornings in 2021, recently posted a Cadillac ad on his personal Instagram account. In the photo, Burleson can be seen standing alongside Cadillac’s new electric SUV, the Celestiq, priced at $400,000. He wrote in the caption, “The Cadillac CELESTIQ is a one of one experience. It represents a whole new definition of luxury. Excited to share what we created together @cadillac @atlanticrethink. More soon. #ad”
However, the ad has made fans wonder whether Burleson’s time at CBS is coming to an end. Because CBS doesn’t allow its journalists to advertise products for personal gain, the network reportedly did not allow the commentator to run the ad.
An insider told The New York Post about the ad’s possible consequences, saying, “Nate is so checked out.” They added that even if Burleson were kicked out of the network, he would have no trouble supporting himself financially. This is because he has other gigs at NFL Today and Hollywood Squares, and he owns his own media production company and brands.
Another insider said Burleson’s move was “unethical.” Despite the multiple changes at the network, one insider previously revealed that Bari Weiss has no intention of letting him go, as he still has time left on his contract. Earlier rumors also suggested that Burleson’s co-host, Gayle King, might leave the show, but she has since denied the claims.
