Alan Ritchson’s Reacher Season 4 Does What No Season Did: Jack Is a [Spoiler] Now

Jack Reacher usually walks into trouble, solves it, and disappears before anyone can pin the mess on him. That formula gets flipped in Season 4 Episode 5, Bridge, when a bloody crime scene puts the former military investigator on the wrong side of the law and sends him running from the authorities.

Reacher’s latest headache starts at Lila Hoth’s hotel, where he walks straight into a scene of carnage. When the cops show up, they see Reacher standing among the bodies. As a result, they immediately pin suspicion on him instead of treating him as someone hunting the real killers.

He manages to break away, but now he’s officially on the run, turning Philadelphia into a dangerous place for him to operate. Reacher’s face is on every news network, with reports branding him a murderer and accusing him of assaulting a police officer.

Then the USB drive delivers another curveball. After all the bloodshed surrounding Anna Merrick’s device, Reacher finds a single photo inside. It shows Congressman Sampson, Cahill, and General Putra, and someone else lurking behind them wearing a lab coat.

Reacher calls Sampson for answers, only to hear that the man was a malaria researcher. Reacher clearly does not buy the explanation, and realizes that there’s more to the story. The case takes a darker turn once Reacher starts connecting the dots from Anna’s phone and the mysterious photo.

He and Tamara follow the trail to a deserted restaurant, where the scattered evidence tells Reacher that Ben Merrick was tortured and murdered there. But before he can fully process the discovery, Lila and Amisha arrive holding a Karam bit on Jacob’s throat.

Season 4 is inspired by Lee Child’s Gone Tomorrow, but the latest episode throws more gasoline on the mystery instead of putting a bow on it. The September 16 finale is still three episodes away, leaving Reacher plenty of time to hunt down the truth.
