San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York was taken into custody in Ohio on August 23 on suspicion of prostitution-related activity. The 46-year-old’s arrest in East Palestine trailer park came after he responded to an online prostitution ad in Columbiana County. Court documents state that York agreed to pay $140 in exchange for sexual activity with a woman.

According to the New York Post, York arrived at the trailer park to meet the woman. As per the documents, an agent from the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force found his cellphone, which was allegedly used to arrange the criminal act.
The nephew of Hall of Famer Eddie DeBartolo Jr. was booked into county jail on two charges, including engaging in prostitution and possessing criminal tools. However, he was released after posting a $5,000 bond and received a one-day jail sentence. He was fined $150 for disorderly conduct and $1,000 for possessing criminal tools. He pleaded no contest to both charges on August 24.
The 49ers issued a statement addressing York’s arrest. It stated, as per WKBN, “This is a legal matter, which has been resolved; we will not be providing any further comment at this time.” The NFL responded, “We are aware of the matter, which will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy.”
His family has owned the 49ers since 1977, after his maternal grandfather bought the team for $13 million. York, who became the 49ers’ team president in 2008, also owns stakes in Premier League club Leeds United and Scotland’s Rangers through 49ers Enterprises. The arrest follows York’s May 2026 divorce filing from his wife, Danielle Belluomini, in Santa Clara County. It remains unclear what prompted the filing. He has two sons with Belluomini, Jaxon and Brixton.
