In a stunning reversal of Megxit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly moving back to the United Kingdom. This unexpected decision, however, has created an unlikely beneficiary within the royal family. According to a source, the Sussexes’ dramatic UK return plan is a surprising win for ex-Prince Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
Source suggests ex-Prince Andrew might be benefiting from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s UK return plans
According to exclusive palace sources speaking to RadarOnline.com, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is secretly “relieved” that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s much-hyped homecoming to Britain is hogging the royal spotlight.
The former Duke of York is still under investigation after his February arrest on his 66th birthday on suspicion of misconduct in public office connected to his association with Jeffrey Epstein. The late sex offender’s link has sparked claims he firmly denies.
An inside source revealed to the outlet, “Andrew is under no illusion about the seriousness of his own circumstances, but Harry and Meghan returning has completely transformed the royal news agenda.”
They continued, “Suddenly everyone is talking about where the Sussexes will live, their relationship with the King and what happens with William. From Andrew’s perspective, having somebody else at the center of the royal storm inevitably provides some relief.”
Ex-Prince Andrew is now living at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, having vacated Royal Lodge in Windsor after King Charles stripped him of his royal titles last year. He also reportedly turned down an invite to join the Royal Family at Balmoral this summer, with claims he now sees himself as an outsider and felt it would be “embarrassing” to show up.
Explaining his decision, another insider said that Andrew knows his standing within the family has shifted completely. The source added that the disgraced royal would rather see the Sussexes dominate the headlines than have his own troubles pushed back into the spotlight.
As Prince Harry and Meghan Markle prepare for an extended stay in Britain with their children, the King’s younger brother has reportedly continued travelling overseas, including trips to the French Riviera.
