Dakota Johnson and Role Model have split less than a year after their relationship was revealed. The former couple began dating in December 2025, but are now reportedly no longer together.
According to People, a source noted that the actress and the singer have gone their separate ways. The relationship between the two ended “a while ago.” Their breakup occurred less than a year after they were first linked last December.
Representatives of Johnson and Model, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, have not responded to the request for comment. Although their relationship was brief, the two were spotted on dates and also collaborated on one of the singer’s projects.
How Dakota Johnson & Role Model’s relationship began
The Madame Web star was first spotted with Pillsbury in December 2025, when the two were seen dining together. They were spotted again a month later on a date in Los Angeles.
Earlier in April this year, a source reported to People that their relationship was “more than a fling, or just a flirt.” The person also noted that the duo had been dating “since late last year” and added that they were “very much on the same page.”
During this time, the source also added that the actress “does really like [the musician] but is also taking things slow after her previous long-term relationship.” However, Johnson and Pillsbury never publicly spoke about their relationship.
The Materialists’ star was previously linked to Coldplay’s Chris Martin since 2017; however, they broke up in June 2025. The two were engaged for years but were also in an on-and-off relationship. Meanwhile, Pillsbury dated influencer Emma Chamberlain from 2020 to 2023.
Role Model’s newest album, Chuck Timely & the Hourglass, includes a track titled “Love I You” featuring Johnson’s vocals. During the spoken bridge of this song, the actress exchanges flirty lines with the singer. According to reports, the collaboration was spontaneous after Johnson dropped by the studio during the recording.
