White House Blasts Rosie O’Donnell After Trump-Focused Jimmy Kimmel Stint

Rosie O’Donnell faced a sharp response from the White House after reportedly criticizing Donald Trump. The comedian had spent several nights guest-hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Her temporary stint ended with another pointed message aimed at the president.

A White House representative called Rosie O’Donnell a ‘nasty woman’ after her Trump criticism

The White House responded after O’Donnell ended her guest-hosting run on Thursday. She had frequently used her monologues to criticize Trump during the appearance. Her final broadcast included a song directed at the president. The performance urged Trump to resign from office.

White House representative Davis Ingle then stated about O’Donnell. He called her a “nasty woman” and a “total slob.” Ingle also claimed her “brain has been destroyed” by “Trump Derangement Syndrome.”

O’Donnell appeared to embrace the insult during her final broadcast. She introduced herself as “nasty Rosie O’Donnell” before attacking Trump. She also referred to him as “orange Voldemort” during the program. Her comments continued the longtime public feud between them.

The comedian performed a song set to the tune of “Danny Boy.” She mocked Trump’s appearance, political standing, and recent controversies. O’Donnell also referenced his relationship with Iran during the performance. She eventually called on Trump to resign and “make this country great again.”

O’Donnell’s criticism had continued throughout her temporary television return. She repeatedly suggested Trump was watching her nightly appearances. She also addressed his presidency during several monologues on Kimmel. The broadcasts marked her return to the talk-show format.

The feud between O’Donnell and Trump dated back nearly two decades. Their public clashes began during O’Donnell’s first period on The View. Trump later targeted her during his 2016 presidential campaign. Their political disagreements continued long after those earlier confrontations.

O’Donnell had moved to Ireland before Trump’s second inauguration in 2025. She later returned to America for her New York stage show. Her visit also led to the Guest-hosting opportunity on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

Despite speculation, O’Donnell denied plans to permanently replace Kimmel. She previously said she remained open to returning to television. However, she suggested she would prefer starting again after Trump left office.

The White House response added another chapter to O’Donnell’s long-running conflict with Trump. Neither side appeared ready to soften their positions.
