Anna Faris’ Son Asked Her to Accept Jesus & She Made Him a Deal

Anna Faris is opening up about an unexpected conversation with her son, Jack Pratt. The actress says Jack has become interested in religion, even though she did not grow up with faith herself. Instead of shutting the subject down, Faris says she wants to keep talking. Her response also shows how she handles disagreements over religion and politics at home.

Anna Faris says she would consider her son’s request but wants long conversations

During the Aug. 20 “Dear Chelsea” podcast, Faris told Chelsea Handler that Jack had asked her to accept Jesus Christ as her savior. Faris said she told him she would “do anything for him, including this,” but added that it would require “a whole lot of long conversations.”

However, Faris did not say she had converted. Instead, she described Jack as thoughtful and emotionally steady, adding that she tries to challenge his ideas rather than dismiss them.

The discussion also touched on issues that often feature in right-wing politics. Faris said she has asked Jack how he thinks about abortion and wealthy megachurch pastors. She added that she appreciates seeing him examine religion and recognize hypocrisy for himself.

Meanwhile, HuffPost highlighted the exchange after the episode aired. Faris shares Jack with ex-husband Chris Pratt, and the former couple has continued co-parenting since their 2018 divorce.

Earlier this month, Faris reflected on feeling out of place among other parents before saying that watching Jack grow has made her more confident as a mother. In addition, Pratt recently described a trip to Tokyo with Jack as especially meaningful.

The “Dear Chelsea” appearance covered more than parenting. Faris also discussed sobriety and how quitting alcohol changed her outlook.

Still, her conversation about faith stood out because she did not frame it as a battle to win. For Faris, the arrangement appears simple: she will listen, but Jack should be ready for questions in return.
