Meghan McCain has delivered a sharp reaction to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as reports point to the couple leaving California for an extended stay in Britain. McCain questioned the Sussexes’ standing in the U.S. and made clear that she will not miss their presence.

McCain reacted to the news in an Aug. 19 post on X. She accused the couple of being “entitled grifters” and argued that Americans had little interest in what she called “d list royals.”
“Good luck to our friends in the UK,” McCain added before declaring that the Sussexes were now Britain’s problem.
Meanwhile, Us Weekly reported that McCain posted the message after reports emerged about the family’s return. The outlet also noted that she has criticized Meghan’s entertainment projects in the past.
The Prince Harry U.K. move comes six years after Harry and Meghan stepped away from working royal duties and settled in California. More recently, the couple reportedly decided to return to Britain with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, with their children expected to attend school there.
As a result, the move would place the Sussexes closer to the British royal family. However, reports indicate that they would remain non-working royals rather than return to their former official roles.
McCain’s criticism also comes amid questions about the couple’s U.S. appeal. Earlier this summer, new polling indicated a decline in Meghan’s American favorability, although those figures do not establish McCain’s broader claim about how all Americans view the couple.
Still, Meghan McCain’s post makes her own position clear. The former View co-host has criticized both Sussexes before, but her latest remarks directly tie that frustration to their reported departure from the U.S.
For now, neither Harry nor Meghan has publicly responded to McCain’s “d list royals” or “entitled grifters” remarks.
