Kristen Bell shares an exciting new update about the villain in Frozen 3. During the Disney D23 Expo, a new trailer for the animated musical fantasy film was released. Along with this, the first look at the characters was also displayed.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly during the D23 event, Bell and Idina Menzel were asked about the glimpse of the new villain shown in the teaser. Bell responded, “Well, that is one of the exciting things to share. The story has always been about these two sisters and their interpersonal relationship. And now that that’s on lock, um families grow, they evolve, and they change and their dynamics change, particularly when something threatens that relationship.”
Menzel added, “Yeah, they’re going to shake it up a little bit.” Moreover, they shared that the expo would contain spoilers like “carrots dangling” and “exciting things that you’d want to walk towards.” However, the voice actresses could not find the right word for the easter eggs hidden within the expo.
What else do we know about Frozen 3?
The D23 event provided many first looks at the third installment of the Frozen franchise. Although the official synopsis has not yet been revealed, the teaser video shown indicated that the movie will begin during Anna and Kristoff’s wedding.
While the Frozen display at the expo showed Kristoff, Sven, and Olaf in formal outfits, Elsa and Anna were shown in adventure-ready attire. Elsa donned a sparkly bluish-purple outfit while Anna was dressed in a floral-like pink gown.
Alongside Bell and Menzel, who play Anna and Elsa, respectively, Jonathan Groff and Josh Gad will reprise the respective roles of Kristoff and Olaf.
Moreover, during the expo, the ensemble spoke about Olaf finally finding a love interest. The teaser also showed a dangerous new realm outside Arendelle. Just like the other two movies, Frozen 3 would also get a new song sung by Menzel.
The third installment of the franchise is structured as a multi-part story, with the fourth installment currently in development. Frozen 3 is slated to release on November 24, 2027.
